Description
The LANTIME M900 offers a lot of space for output
modules and several power supply options in its 3U
rackmount chassis. This allows for a large number of
different outputs like 1PPS, 10MHz, IRIG, serial
timestrings or up to 7 Ethernet ports to support
large network infrastructures. Meinberg will create
an individual solution based on your specific
requirements, please contact us.
As an alternative to GPS a number of other
reference time sources are available for inclusion in
the M900 system, for example DCF77 (PZF), IRIG (TCR),
MSF or NTP (from an upstream server).
An LC Display shows the status of the reference
time source as well as the time service. Additionally
three bi-color (green/red) LEDs clearly indicate the
state of the three main components (time source,
network time service, network) and a red alarm LED
signals major system failures.
The configuration and control of the system can be
carried out via a powerful yet easily understandable
web user interface, a text-based console setup tool
is available for easy access to most configuration
options and status information when you logged in via
SSH, Telnet or the serial front port.
The security features of Meinberg's LANTIME time
servers comply with highest standards: The time
synchronization can reliably ensure time integrity
via symmetric keys or the NTPv4 autokey feature by
allowing the clients to check that the time
information is really coming from the trusted LANTIME
and is not spoofed by a man-in-the-middle attacker.
All configuration and management channels can be
accessed via secure protocols like SSH, HTTPS or
SNMPv3. Last but not least the LANTIME follows a
basic security principle by running only the services
that have been enabled by the user and keep all
unneeded ports closed in order to further reduce the
possibilities of a cyber attack.
All major network management systems (NMS) can
access a wealth of vital information via the
LANTIME'S powerful SNMP management interface which
supports SNMP V1, V2c and V3 and smoothly integrates
your time server services into your general network
management concepts. Unlike other time server
products the LANTIME familiy of time servers supports
configuration changes via SNMP and therefore allows
for automated reactions to critical situations as
well as non-interactive setting up or reconfiguring
your time server if a certain situation occurs.
LANTIME time servers are designed to be used in
pure IPv6 networks as well as dual stack networks,
not only the NTP time service is IPv6 capable but
also management and configuration protocols like
SNMP, SSH or HTTP(S) can be used over IPv6. The
system supports multiple IPv6 addresses for each
interface by specifying a manual IP address and use
autoconf capabilities to setup link global adresses
as well as the automatic link local adress
configuration.
The M900 platform can be combined with all
available Meinberg oscillator options, ranging from
the cost effective TCXO up to a Rubidium based
oscillator with extremely stable holdover
capabilities, ensuring a tighly synchronized network
environment in the absence of any external reference,
even if this situation lasts for days, weeks or even
months.
Please note that the following technical
specifications for pulse, frequency and serial
outputs are based on a sample configuration and can
be modified in order to fulfill your individual
requirements.
