Meinberg documents are normally published in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF).
PDFs are widely used on the internet because they preserve the original document layout
in a space-saving file format.
In order to be able to read or print PDF documents, a PDF viewer must be installed on
the computer. Since there are viewer programs available for most common operating systems,
the PDF format is nearly platform-independent.
On this page there are some copies of the Adobe Acrobat Reader available for download.
The latest version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader for almost all operating systems can be downloaded
from Adobe:
Adobe Acrobat Reader can be installed as a standalone viewer for PDF files and/or as a plugin
for some web browsers like Netscape Navigator/Communicator or Microsoft Internet Explorer.
If the Acrobat Reader has been installed as a browser's plugin then if a link to a PDF file
is opened in the browser, the browser starts the Acrobat Reader and displays the contents of
the PDF document in the browser window.
If the PDF document shall be saved on the local computer instead, you can click at the link
to the PDF document with the right mouse button. The browser will open a context menu which
has an entry similar to Save link as which can be selected to save the PDF document
to the local disk.
