Software: IEEE1588 Monitor shows PTP Devices in Your Network
In order to reliably detect all devices, the PTP Monitor needs to be installed on a PC that sees all PTP related network traffic, either by using a network tap or a mirror port on a central switch.
A number of very useful features greatly simplifies the debugging of PTP installations, for example the automatic recording of the last 100 ANNOUNCE, SYNC and FOLLOWUP messages. The recorded messages can be reviewed in detail. The use of filter options and the possibility to sort the table view and hide/show data fields/columns increases the readability and makes it easy to follow the PTP/IEEE 1588 activity in your network.
In order to better identify single nodes, the PTP Monitor has the capability to assign alias names for Clock UUIDs as well as IP- and MAC-addresses.
The Meinberg PTP Monitor can be downloaded from our Software Download Page and is available for Windows and 32bit- as well as 64bit-Linux Systems.
