It is now Possible to Receive Galileo Signals with a Standard Meinberg Antenna


The special receiver concept of the new GNS181-UC is able to capture GPS and Galileo signals, by using a standard Meinberg antenna/converter.

Bad Pyrmont, October 24, 2017 - Meinberg, manufacturer of the world's most efficient time and frequency synchronization equipment, announces the new GNS181-UC clock module. In addition to the ability of capturing both GPS and Galileo signals, the configuration of the unit also allows to select one of these to be used exclusively or in combination.

With the GNS181-UC receiver board, existing systems with a Meinberg GPS antenna can now easily be upgraded to also receive Galileo signals, by only changing the clock module. This allows the customers to still be able to use all the advantages of the Meinberg antenna/converter technology, like the support of long antenna cable distances.

The board is able to generate fixed and programmable standard frequencies with very high accuracy and stability. The GNS181-UC offers satellite based time synchronization at the highest accuracy standard for fixed or mobile applications. It is suitable to be deployed in data centers or on board of cars, trucks, aircrafts, ships and other moving platforms.

It is fully compatible with Meinberg's Intelligent Modular Synchronization (IMS) product family. That means, the IMS-GNS181-UC clock module can be installed in any CLK slot of all IMS systems, including all LANTIME M500, M1000, M3000 and M4000 models. Users can easily add the GNS181-UC as a second, redundant clock module to their already deployed IMS systems or field-replace their current IMS clock modules with the new GNS181-UC board.
