The solution used today already covers the handling of automatic switchover from one GPS clock to the other in case of a failure or
loss of synchronisation. The new SCU/XPT now adds extensive
remote management and monitoring features to the redundant system. By using the GPSMON32 software, a tool freely available for Meinberg
customers, the status of the switchcard and both GPS clocks can be monitored over a TCP/IP network. The SNMP compatibility of the SCU/XPT
module allows SNMP compatible network management systems to query the status, too.
The new notify features like SNMP traps and SYSLOG messages now send alerts to management systems in case of a problem or change of
status. This helps to avoid complete failures and additionally increases the reliability of redundant Meinberg GPS systems.
More details about this product and its features can be found on the product page.
A datasheet
is available for download, too.
