The "NTP Pool Project" is a recommended source for public NTP Servers and is being used by many systems around the world. The Time-Server-Cluster pool.ntp.org is constantly seeking new servers to be added to the pool, since the number of users is increasing permanently, while the total number of servers has been stagnating or even decreasing lately (read also the article on pool.ntp.org).

Anyone who owns a server with a static IP address, which is always available on the internet, can participate. The required bandwidth is relatively low. Each client will only send a couple of UDP packets every few minutes.

In order to support the NTP time service of pool.ntp.org, Meinberg Radio clocks decided to raffle off a total of seven DCF77 computer clocks and three GPS time receivers amongst the participants. By using these high-quality PCI Express slot cards with the provided software you can easily turn your computer or server into an NTP server.

Participation Requirements:

Just fill out the participation form to participate in the raffle. Make sure that you have a static IP address, that allows the time service to be available online. After reception of either a DCF77 or GPS computer clock the winners are committed to add a permanently available NTP time server to the NTP pool, for at least 2 years.

If requested, Meinberg will support you in the installation process of the NTP server.

Participation deadline is July, 29^th. Winner announcement on the 1^th of August 2012.
