The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) (Federal Standards Laboratory), Braunschweig and Berlin, is the nature and engineer-scientific agency and technical upper authority of the Federal Republic of Germany for measurement and for physical safety engineering. The PTB operates the long wave transmitter DCF77 for the synchronisation of radio clocks.
